WHAT IS COACHING

“Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”

As Sir John says, coaching is all about working with you to unlock your potential. I have a firm belief that you already have what it takes to achieve your goals. Sometimes you need some help to get there. Sometimes you need to be held accountable to someone. Sometimes you just need space. My role as a coach is to hold up a metaphorical mirror to you and give you the space to find out what you need to do in order to achieve.

In our sessions, we will look at your goals and how we can get from where you are to where you want to be. Through questioning, exercises and challenging you when necessary, I will help you to identify the options that work for you.

WHAT COACHING IS NOT

A coach will encourage and support the client as they undertake the challenge, so that the client can be the best possible version of themselves. If there is any risk of breaching boundaries into any of the above roles, we will discuss this in your sessions.

Coaching requires a gap between where someone is and where someone wants to be. Without that gap, there is no goal, and without the goal, there is no way of coaching someone.

Confidentiality is key. In our initial chemistry meeting, we will discuss what confidentiality looks like for you and the boundaries and ethics within which we would like to work.
